League Now Open

Yahoooooooo!

Late last night, the fantasy hockey leagues opened up for this year, and our league was promptly created when this wonderful news was discovered. It looks like we may have broken a record in early league creation this year too; our league number is 391. I guess that's what happens when you refresh a page 7 thousand times a day to see if things are open yet... but it means nothing really. What matters is that the invites have been sent to all GMs, and soon enough it'll be game time for the 9th season of 'The Dub'. So exciting!

P.S. - Don't forget that keeper and trade deadline day is in just a few days!

Keepers Due Next Week

We've started the final stretch of August, and that means we are just one week away from Keeper deadline. As everyone knows, all 10 Keepers are to be submitted by end of day September 1st - next Sunday. Most GMs have already submitted at least a temporary list - it can be changed at any point up to the deadline - but there are still 4 quiet GMs out there who haven't submitted anything thus far. I'm sure they'll get them in by deadline day though, not wanting the 10 players to be randomly picked for them should they not submit.

Things have been quiet on the trade front in the last couple weeks as well, but we should note again at this point, that as soon as the keeper deadline passes, so does the trade deadline. No trading is to happen past September 1st, up until draft day where trading commences again. If there are deals to be made, you best get them done in the next 7 days.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

To King Flameheads:
1st round pick (via inTIMidators)
C. Hodgson

To inTIMidators
5th round pick (via Caribous)
H. Sedin

Deadlines Approaching

This summer is certainly passing by quickly. It's hard to imagine that, in less than 3 weeks, we'll have two important deadlines come and go. On September 1st, by end of day, a list of 10 Keepers are to be submitted by all GMs. This will be the 5th year we've done this now, so its should come to no surprise that it needs to be done, however, if GM's do not submit them the penalty will be a random selection of keepers from their final roster. I'm sure nobody wants to start the year out that way, so I suspect everyone will have their selections in on time. Some will be last minute submissions, as per normal, but they will get done.

Another important deadline ends as September begins: Off-season trading. GMs will be no longer allowed to trade any assets after September 1st, and will not be able to do so again until draft day.  This means that there are less than 3 weeks to make deals happen, if anyone is working on them.

Speaking of draft day, please remember that our day for drafting each year is always the second Sunday of September. This year, it will be at 9:30pm on September 15th - provided Yahoo has that timeslot available, which they always do. We'll know for sure in a week or two though, when the system opens up again.

Myers

To No Homers:
